Don Duncan was a master woodworker and had constructed a number of boats over the years. One of these he donated to the PS Ruby as a restoration and maintenance project, when he moved from the area. The boat was moored in the PS Ruby pond but time and vandals took its toll. In 2016 Dareton Men in a Shed were invited to undertake the restoration of the “Don Duncan”. The PS Ruby committee were very pleased that the men agreed to take on the project although it was agreed it would take time, dollars and a lot of loving care. While this restoration was occurring, one of the members of the Shed, sadly passed away and he was restoring a canoe. The family donated this canoe to the shed and the boat team undertook and completed this project. This canoe will also be launched on the day.
